48103876.OshoVipassanaMeditationAfter ten days of raw noble silence at the Vipassana retreat there are several things that stand out.

1) Nutritional yeast is not for beginners: This one is for those of you who shop at PCC and whole foods. What is the reason for nutritional yeast? one should not rely on powder for your nutrition or protein, I don’t care how good the powder. And cocaine does not count either.

2) Your body and mind are impossible to control but with a little loving can be somewhat directed: Screw the sugars, toss the breads, and settle for organic, healthy raw goodness. The body does not like to be stuffed and neither does our mind. This meditation feeds you twice a day and not after 12. (gremlins need not apply). No, the fruit you can consume at 5:30pm does not count as a meal thank you very much. Perhaps my headaches were from detoxing! Perhpas nutritional yeast sounds good after all.

3) Bring your own tylenol: The headaches…massive, meditation induced migraines. Had to beg for tylenol for five days straight. Next time I’m sneaking in my Costco size.

4) Never pack anything in a ziplock bag: This is a silent retreat. Do you know how hard it is to open a ziplock in silence?

5) Forget sneaking in a book: Yes, I tried to sneak in my journal but couldn’t open it. Again, that silence thing is a killer.
