Thanks to Café Reiki, I now understand the following basic precepts of good, healthy eating. Reiki (pronounced Ray-kee) comes from the Japanese rei, meaning “universal”, and ki, meaning “energy”. Reiki’s “universal life force” energy is equivalent to the vital life force of qi in traditional Chinese medicine, and to prana in Ayurvedic medicine. The Raw food diet is a diet based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, dried fruit, and seaweed. It is primarily vegan-based with a few exceptions. Cooking food above 118 degrees Farenheit is believed to destroy enzymes in food that can assist in the digestion and absorption of food. Cooking is also thought to diminish the nutritional and “life force energy” of food. Cafe Reiki does the menu planning for you by packing up home-delivered vegan, raw meal boxes (four entrées, four sides, two snacks and two desserts). With a different box each week Café Reiki will help your inner life force flow!
