Idiom

June 22, 2010

Hold on tight, stay cool as a cucumber because this is going to be a quick blessing in disguise. Ok, it’s time to get into a topic we all use…idioms. We all know them, use them but rarely know the meaning behind them. The fact that a picture paints a thousand words is great but lemons into lemonade even better. There are phrases coined at sea…is it possible that ‘cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey’ comes from brass ship’s fittings? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush dates as far back as the 16th century.  So sit back and have a long tall cool drink of water…and get your idioms on.
