It’s not as if people are trying NOT to be ecofriendly, it’s just that sometimes it takes us out of our comfort zone. After all, having a fresh towels and sheets every day while on vacation becomes part of the luxury of vacation itself. But deep in the heart of Patagonia there is a place that challenges your zest for beauty, comfort and relaxing while managing to be entirely eco-conscious. It’s called Ecocamp and it became the first hospitality company in Chile to be awarded the prestigious ISO 14001 certification. Sleep in one of the egloo type double domes built as an ancient Kaweska dwelling. Sit under the Southern cross with a glass or wine and hike amid tall peaks of Torres Del paine. It may take me a little while to get comfortable with the composting toilet, but Patagonia makes you truly appreciate nature at its best.
